At a first glance, you'd think this shot was captured on the prairies, but it is from Yellowknife.  A few dedicated  people who have made this far northern city their home have brought horses to the north to be part of their daily life here.

While the available land to roam on might be easily measured, and a rocky tundra fills the rest, what price could you put on loving and caring for such majestic animals that are so few and numbered here in the far north.

One of Yellowknife's truely own wild horse that was put out to pasture recently near the rolling rock hills of the mini golf course.

I'm sure that many a young northern cowboys tried to tame this bronco in his younger days as he was corralled at various locations around town.

Two hotspots that come to mind over the past ten or so years were outside of Shopper's Drug Mart and Panda One Mall basement where fifty cents would get you a few minute ride on this buster.
